UL celebrates more than 120 years of fire safety testing by honoring and remembering our rich contribution to fire safety testing with an informative series that brings a direct focus on the reaction to fire characteristics of building materials and systems. Each month through the end of the year educational articles will feature the key areas where UL has led the advancement of scientific research and testing of reaction to fire characteristics of building materials and systems.

This month’s article, It’s Still Hot – So Let’s Be Thankful for Air Ducts, highlights the tests UL performs to help ensure air ventilation products safely supply air at the right temperature to your home and workplace. 11 editions of the Standard later, compliance to ANSI/ UL 181 – Standard for Factory-Made Air Ducts and Air Connectors, is required by most major codes for commercial and residential factory made air ducts.
Future topics include: Roofing (UL 790 / ASTM E108), Flammability of Exterior Walls (NFPA 285), and Evaluation Reports. Visit the link below to subscribe to future articles throughout 2016.
